Equipment
1 Quart Mason jar (can be regular or wide mouth)
1 lid for your jar
1 2-3 quart pot for cooking
Ingredients
2cupfreeze-dried (FD) butternut squash
1/2cupFD potato dices
1/2 cupFD mushroom slices
1.5tbspFD onion diced
1/2 cupFD diced beef
1tbspFD butter powder
1tsp ground cumin
1/2tspsalt(more or less to taste)
1.5tbspbeef boullion
black pepper(to taste)
ground thyme(to taste)
2tbspshredded swiss cheese(optional)
Instructions
Add all ingredients to a quart size mason jar and cover with lid. It's recommended (but not required) to use a vacuum jar sealer if you are storing the jar for longer than 2 months.
When ready to make the soup. Bring 4-6 cups of water to a boil (more or less depending on your desired thickness of the soup).
Add jar contents to the water and simmer for 15 minutes.
Serve with a nice crusty bread
Optional: sprinkle with shredded Swiss cheese

If you would like a bit more color or veggie in the soup, swap out 1/4 cup of butternut squash for a 1/4 cup green peas. sustainablepursuits.net
