Beef Salad with Mushroom

This is a hearty beef salad that can be eaten in sandwiches or as a melt.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Diced Beef (freeze-dried)
  • 2 tbsp Sliced Onions (freeze-dried)
  • 2 tbsp Celery (freeze-dried)
  • 1/4 cup Mushrooms (freeze-dried)
  • 1 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Mustard
  • 1/4 cup Cheese- shredded (optional)
  • parsley for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions

  • Assemble freeze-dried ingredients and add warm water to cover.
  • Allow FD ingredients to soak/rehydrate for about 15 minutes (or till tender)
  • Drain off any excess water from FD ingredients and add mayonnaise and mustard. Mix well.
  • If eating cold, add cheese and parsley with mayonnaise and mustard and mix well. Can be eaten as a sandwich, pita, or wrap.
  • If making a melt, place mixture on bread of your choice and sprinkle cheese and parsley on top. Melt the cheese using your preferred method.

Notes

A little mayonnaise goes a long way with this recipe.
Just a reminder, this recipe uses freeze-dried foods which are not the same as dehydrated. If you are using dehydrated ingredients you will need a much longer soaking process. Always follow the soaking process on your ingredients label.
